The Woodlands Outdoor Natural Light Photographer | Lummis Family
These two boys are the perfect example of how different siblings truly can be. The older brother had such an adorable smile he was willing to share with me at the drop of a hat. The younger brother was a little more reserved, very sweet and loved his sweet snuggles with mama. Both boys were so much fun to work with. As a The Woodlands Outdoor Natural Light Photographer and mother of two of my own who have very different personalities, I’ve learned over the years how to work with little ones of all personality types.
About this session
This family reminds me so much of the dynamic I grew up with. (Even though my parents had two little girls on their hands as opposed to these sweet boys.) My sister was always the analytical one, always scoring perfect grades, constantly learning new things and joining new academic clubs. I… on the other hand was the family jokester, never failing to make my parents laugh. I loved seeing their sweet faces break into huge grins as they tried their hardest to keep a straight, stern face. Constantly gravitated towards afternoons spent crafting with my mom, hot days spent in my dad’s wood shop, learning some new carpentry trick, I learned so much from both of them over the years. What I learned over the years from growing up with such a high achieving sibling though, was to reassess the way in which I viewed myself in comparison to her, and others.
When we got older, I was shocked to hear that she had always been jealous of the ease in which I made friends and the different artistic outlets I was able to enjoy. From that conversation on, my perspective on how I viewed myself and my unique talents and abilities completely changed. It’s a lesson that I try and teach to my kids every day. Like these two boys, each of them is so incredibly beautiful and talented in their own way. If only they knew how adored they truly are…. <3

Newborn Photographer Montgomery County | McClean Family
A more beautiful family would be hard to find! I loved working with the McClean family as their Newborn Photographer Montgomery County. As a natural light photographer, I love going wherever the sun is. Whether that’s at my studio, a flower-laden field, or a family’s home. As soon as this sweet girl’s mama asked me about coming out to their home and showed me the gorgeous floor to ceiling windows in their living room, I quickly responded with a resounding, “Yes!!”
Lifestyle sessions are some of my absolute favorites. Especially with newborns. It allows the family to settle into an organic environment and gives me the opportunity to capture them in their natural element. As with many kiddos this age, big sister took a few minutes to loosen up in front of the camera, but as soon as she became more comfortable with me, we were able to get some truly stunning shots! Big brother was such a jokester! I adored his big personality and the way he gently kissed his sweet baby sister’s head. Not much on this earth is more beautiful than the relationship between a brother and his sisters.
I love the brother/sister dynamic. I think that’s why I was so incredibly excited when I had Caleb first, and then gave him a little sister to play with. As a kid, I always begged for a baby brother or a baby boy cousin. In the end, I got all sisters and girly cousins until my mama met my incredible step dad and his kiddos and all was right in the world 😉 Although we may not be related by blood, the love I have for them matches any blood bond out there!

The Woodlands Natural Light Family Photography | Hahn Family Session
This little guy had me cracking up throughout this entire The Woodlands Natural Light Family Photography session! I have no idea how he packs such a huge personality into such a tiny body, but I loved every sweet second I was able to spend with him and his sweet family. The fun that they so easily had with each other was such a joy to witness. I could see the pride flowing from these two little guy’s dad as he flung them into the air. I could see the love flow freely from their mommy’s heart, wrapping them up in her sweet smile.
Photography to me is an escape and an outlet. It allows me to express my creative passion, that brings a smile to the beautiful faces I capture. Hearing someone overcome with happiness as they look through the collection of images taken of their sweet family, or to see a tear quietly slip down the cheek of a new mother as she flips through the images of her brand new baby boy fills my heart with such happiness and helps me wake each morning with a smile on my face. I think the best part about this industry is the unknown. I love to sit and think about the next beautiful session I will soon have the opportunity to capture. Or the next new friendship that I will have the chance to make with my sweet clients. This life may be busy, with a booming business, two sweet kiddos, three pets and a husband who all need me. But this is my beautiful life and I adore every second that I am blessed to spend here on this sweet Earth.
We took to FM 1097 for this beautiful family session, which is only a 20 minute drive to The Woodlands Mall, located on Lake Woodlands Dr. The Woodlands has so many amazing things to do for young families, it’s no surprise that many of my clients live there.
The Woodlands Family Photography Session – P Family (at the beach)
I shot this incredible The Woodlands Family Photography Session in Surfside/Galveston just two days after Christmas. The fog gave this session such a dreamy effect and was perfect lighting for this beach setting photography session. When someone visits Houston, they do not really think of a beach session, but Galveston definitely provides a beautiful and wonderful setting for family portraits. This family was vivacious, and enjoyable to be around and a true dream come true to work with! It was such a joyful time to watch and photograph this large family and their natural interactions they had with one another.
When I was a child, we spent many days in Galveston during the summers and long breaks from school. The seaweed, when you get in the water, used to make me think things were tickling my toes, and my imagination ran wild with the sandcastles I could build and shells I could find. Ginger and her family provided those same childhood memories for their sweet kiddos and grandkiddos, and I was just truly lucky I could be there to witness just a couple hours of their sweet memories. My memories are locked away inside my head, cherished the same, but Ginger and her family now have documentation of their time together. How lucky I am to have this as my job and to provide tangible memories for these spectacular clients of mine! <3
Ginger and her family were a dream come true. I hope that they love these images as much as I do! And to see more from this session, be sure to keep scrolling below. And for more information on how to book a session, be sure to get in touch!
The Woodlands Natural Light Studio Family Photographer | Precious Ruby
Oh this little girl. This sweet princess has forever left a mark on my heart. The first time I met Ruby and her mama as their Houston Natural Light Family Photographer, we made a connection that is rarely felt. Check out the blog post from our first session! It was so fun going back and reading what I wrote the first time we met. Since then, so much has changed in both our lives, but the connection remains. Her silly personality and kind spirit instantly clicked with mine. I don’t think I stopped giggling from the first wave hello, to the last precious hug goodbye. I’ll never forget the afternoon I spent bathed in the golden light of Ruby’s company.
About this Family
Ruby’s sweet mama was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. If you would like to take a minute and learn about this debilitating disease, that link can be found here. Instead of focusing on the negatives however, I’m going to take a leaf from Ruby and her mama’s book and look to the good. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to spend this sweet time in their company.
So often we get wrapped up in the ridiculous schedules we make for ourselves. Especially people pleasing mamas like me! We loose sight of why we work 40+ hours a week, why we put our kiddos in various classes, why we take time to strengthen our bodies…etc. Since meeting this family, I have taken more time to stop, breathe, and be thankful for every breath, every workout, every gymnastics class I take my sweet Maddie to, and every Boy Scout meeting I take my handsome Caleb to. I hug my babies a little tighter and sneak a few more stolen kisses from my husband. This family has taught me to appreciate and savor this sweet life I have been blessed with.
To this beautiful family, you are in my prayers and thoughts constantly. Thank you for opening my eyes and letting me into your hearts, you’ll forever have a place in mine <3
North Houston Family Photographer | Rothstein Family
Amanda is one of my closest friends. I have always found such sweet comfort in her friendship and such excitement as her North Houston Family Photographer. Her eldest daughter and my little Maddie are so close. I love watching them play and adventure together. My mom has a darling bench swing on her property that perfectly fits both of their sweet little selves, side by side. Oh how they love that swing! Back and forth, back and forth. If they could have it their way, they’d spend hours swinging the day away in each other’s sweet company. Knowing Maddie has a lifelong friend made in Amanda’s precious daughter touches my heart so deeply.
Easily seen from this session, Amanda has an absolutely gorgeous sense of style. As soon as she approached me about this outdoor session that was to be taken in a sweet open field, I was instantly thrilled. Not only for the great images I knew we were bound to take, but to see how she would dress the whole family! I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed! Make sure to scroll down to see the entire family’s perfectly styled outfits! The earthy tones and boho vibe truly did make for some stunning shots.
I loved watching both of these sweet parents interact with their kiddos. The really did have so much fun together, no prompts needed! I still remember the sweet laughter that filled the air around us throughout the entire session. Seeing the love that flows so freely through this family touched my heart so deeply. There’s something so special about seeing the true beautiful personality of a family from the view of my lens. Scrolling through these pictures makes my heart so incredibly happy. I can’t wait for next time I get to share a few precious moments with this sweet friend of mine and her darling family.
Houston Family Natural Light Photographer | Hancock Family Sunset Session
Oh, how I loved spending the afternoon bathed in the sweet company of these goofy little boys. Silly boys really do have such a special place in my heart. Each one of these little guys reminds me so much of my Caleb at various ages. Spending the afternoon with this gorgeous couple and their sweet sons, as their Houston Family Natural Light Photographer made goodnight snuggles with my little man extra special that night. Watching Julie’s husband interact and play with his sons reminded me so much of the love my husband, Nick, has for our little ones. I can’t help but fall just a little further down the rabbit hole in love with him every time I see him loving on our babies.
The way Julie styled her family for this session was just perfect. The varying plaids worn by the little ones paired perfectly with the solid neutral tones of their parents. Having a prop like the wooden crate on hand really helped with keeping the attention of the littlest guy. It may seem a small thing, but providing props really helps keep the little ones engaged and excited. They have the beautiful ability to see the most adventurous potential in the simplest of objects, don’t they?
All the fun we had, playing and giggling together, truly made for some great shots. With kids at this age, I really try and let them run the show for the most part. It lets me capture their true sweet, silly personalities which makes for some of the best pictures!
When Julie (mom) first approached me about this outdoor family portrait session, I was absolutely thrilled! I mean, how stunning is this family! The best part…? They’re even prettier on the inside! Add in some of that perfect golden light, and it’s enough to make you swoon! I loved every second of getting to know them better. I’m pretty sure I didn’t stop giggling from the first hello handshake, to the last sweet hug goodbye.
The Woodlands Lifestyle Newborn Photographer | Bogus Family Lifestyle Newborn Session
What an absolutely precious family this is! I adored spending the afternoon with them, bathed in golden light and the sweet love that flows so freely through these four. I’ve known Beckett’s mama since high school, so it’s been fun to watch her grow over the years into the sweet woman she is today. What a sweet time it is to be a The Woodlands Lifestyle Newborn Photographer!
We had so much fun playing and spending time with his big sister! What a personality this one has! When working with toddlers at this age, I really like to let them run the show. When they want to jump, as you can see, we jump! When they want to be the sweetest little snuggle bugs, we snuggle our little hearts out! When I allowed her to act naturally throughout the session, I was able to get natural shots of her beautiful smile and bubbly personality. Candid shots are where it’s at for little ones of this age!
Newborn lifestyle sessions are some of my favorites simply for the fact that it’s super easy on the family. As soon as we were done playing with this little guy’s big sister, she was able to go play in another area of the house, perfectly comfortable in her own setting, which allowed mom and I to get some great single shots of Mr. Beckett. Super cute!
I loved watching Beckett’s parents craddle his perfectly delicate body. The tender love that has already encompassed this sweet baby boy is so incredibly touching. A beautiful journey filled with endless laughter and sweet memories is surely in store for this amazing family <3
Montgomery Family Portrait Photographer | Rodriguez Family Portrait
What a great set of smiles this family has! Each one’s just as beautiful as the last! I had an absolutely amazing time capturing the sweet love of this family. A sunset session suited their dreamy vibe perfectly! The way the light danced in and out of the trees made for some truly stunning shots. What a great day to be a Montgomery Family Portrait Photographer!
I love the way mom styled the whole family. She was able to coordinate them all to create one cohesive look, while allowing enough variety in the outfits to cultivate an eclectic feel to the session.
When it comes to little ones of this age, I try and make sure I have some prop options with me at all times. It allows them something to focus on and takes some of the pressure off of them. When we throw a blanket up in the air, we’re no longer at a family portrait, we’re all friends playing and laughing together. And that’s when the magic happens; the genuine squeals of laughter, the unmistakable smiles of a child at play.
There was something special in the way this family played with each other. They were so comfortable in front of the camera from the very start. With kiddos at this age and a bit younger, I’ve found that the best way to get genuine emotions is to play games. But, with these four, none of them needed any sort of prompting in the laughter and play department. They were just so genuinely happy spending time together. And I was lucky enough to be there to capture it all. Every giggle, snuggle and smile.
