Organic Baby Boy Photography The Woodlands | Welcome Sweet Boy

This family means the world to me! I loved working with them, as they are such sweet, caring people that live to help others. Mom worked at MDA where my grandpa was getting treated on the same floor. After seeing the battles that he went through, I realized how special people who work in the medical field are. This mama in particular works each and every day to serve others. Not only does she work with the patients in such a loving way, but she gets to know the families. I will forever be thankful for her and the others that work at MDA, where grandpa was treated in such an amazing way.

A Laid Back Love

This was a very laid back couple, which makes things run so smoothly and effortlessly! They recently welcomed a sweet baby into their home, and I am so excited for them on this new adventure! This precious boy was super good and full of expressions. Being a newborn isn’t easy, and he was so cooperative as we took photos of him. He had me cooing the entire time. This session took place in my studio, and we decided on using natural colors that would allow us to focus on baby boy’s cute little features. I loved his tiny toes! He had no problem making himself comfy, and I love that he was able to relax and sleep soundly.

Focusing on the family is something that I always try to incorporate in my newborn sessions. Not only did we get some sweet photos of our new little guy, but I took several photos of him with his parents. It was so stinkin’ cute to see the three of them cuddled together, adoring one another. They were absolutely beautiful!

Congratulations to these three on the new adventures that await them. They have so many blessings to count!

The Woodlands Photographer Summer Series | 5 Inexpensive and Fun Summer Activities to do with you and your kiddos at home

The Woodlands Photographer Summer Series | 5 Inexpensive and Fun Summer Activities to do with Your Kiddos without Leaving Home

Summer is right around the corner, and I am determined to make it one of the best yet! Kiddos will be getting out of school, which means houses will be a little busier than normal. I am super excited to spend time with my kids, but let’s face it – being cooped up in the house tends to get a little tiring, especially when there is nothing to do.

Solution? I would say take them places, but as much as I love taking my kids to water parks and other fun summer places, that stuff gets expensive. Not to mention, getting out of the house with two kids can be somewhat of a tricky process. Getting ready, getting shoes on, and buckling in car seats can wear a mama down! Of course, we will do this every now and then, but I want to spend quality time with my children without all of the hassle. If you are like me and need some ideas, here are 5 inexpensive and fun summer activities to do with you and your kiddos at home.

  1. Plant a small garden – This will give your kids a hands-on experience that they will LOVE. Kids are fascinated by planting seeds and watching them grow. Furthermore, it teaches patience, responsibility, and care. Plant your favorite fruits and veggies, and your kids will be so proud when their hard work pays off and you eat it at the dinner table!
  2. Get a rope and build a rope swing – This one brings back so many memories of my pop’s house. We could swing for hours as our bellies filled with butterflies. This is such a fun and easy idea to surprise your kids with!
  3. Do a treasure hunt with your kiddos (map and all) – Treasure hunts are so fun, and require kids to use critical thinking skills. Hide a series of clues, make a map, and have something waiting for them at the end. Imagine your kiddos spending an hour or so following the map, and finding popsicles at the end to enjoy outside!
  4. Set up a lemonade stand – This is a classic idea that will never get old! It is such a rich experience for kids to work hard, make something, and see the payoff. They can make a sign, set up a little booth, and become salesmen for their product! Lemonade stands are seriously so fun, and require such little effort! Your kiddos will love counting their money at the end!
  5. Have a camping read-a-thon – This one can be set up indoors or outside! Get that dusty old tent out of the garage, and put it up somewhere at your house. There is something about tents that kids love, and encouraging them to read while relaxing in a tent is a great way to keep up the hard work they put in throughout the school year. If you set the tent up inside, turn the lights off, give them a flashlight with a book, and they will enjoy reading for hours!

And as always, I would love to come to your home and be your photographer for the day.  A fly on the wall, if you will.  Be sure to check out my portfolio if you’d like to book a session with me!

Extended Family of 5 Candid Pictures in The Woodlands

Extended Family of 5 Candid Pictures in The Woodlands

What a sweet family this one is! Daniella Garens and her loved ones came all the way from Dallas to visit me, and how happy I am that they did! Daniella had her two cute kiddos and her parents with her. These five are such kind spirits, and were a treasure to have in front of the camera!  With that, cheers to these adorable Extended Family of 5 Candid Pictures in The Woodlands.
If there was a mom of the year award, it would definitely go to Daniella! She is such a sweet and loving mama to both of her kids. It is obvious that they are the stars in her sky. That they are the fire that lights her soul. Daniella’s daughter broke her arm the week before the session, and she was a tad bit worried about how that would affect the session. Since I am a candid and lifestyle portrait photographer, this didn’t bother me in the least. It is so indicative of the sweet girl’s age. Daniella’s kiddos had so much fun, laughing and being silly the whole time. I was able to get some adorable photos of these two playing and hugging each other. I love seeing siblings getting along and having fun, probably because these moments can be rare in my house, haha! Let’s face it, siblings will be siblings. These two acted as if they were best friends, and it was so great to capture!
The grandparents joined us, and I’m so glad they were able to be a part of the family photos. They were a bit apprehensive to be in front of the camera at first, but they warmed up to it, and magic happened. We also had a couple pups join in on the session. You could tell that these two doggies are loved tremendously, and are definitely part of the family. My favorite part of the session was seeing all 7 of these precious family members sitting together. They were so fun, so natural, and overall a loving family.

Ashley Cox is a good friend of my mom and step dad’s. She’s a nurse and such a good, devoted mama. I admire her ability to nurture others throughout each and every day. It takes a very special person to have those jobs! She is also a fellow cross fitter at a different gym than mine. We have a lot in common, and I love being able to chat with her during sessions. This sweet mama has been using me since her daughter, Kayleigh, was just one year old! The first time I worked with the Cox family was when Kayleigh celebrated her birthday in my studio at the salon. We did a cake smash, which she totally loved! She was my first ever client in that studio, and I am so glad that she has been there since the beginning. This little one seems to love me so much. After every session, she asks me to stay and play. It is hard to resist such a sweet little face!

The Cox’s Family Portrait Session

Working with the Cox family is always a treasure, as I love them so! For this session, I took them to my favorite spot. I work in The Woodlands as a natural light candid family photographer, and have always been blessed with gorgeous locations to take my clients. I am so excited that I have found a lovely little location in Willis, Texas. It’s so simple, which allows me to really focus on the family, while adding small details that compliment the folks that I’m working with.
Ashley, her husband Brandon, and their two kiddos were precious! I always want my clients to feel comfy, so I encourage them to play around and have fun. Kayleigh is now a big sister with a younger brother named Nolan. These two are precious as can be. Kayleigh had a blast with me, as always. Nolan was super cute, calm, and smiley! Ashley and Brandon played with their little ones, and I loved to see them laughing and smiling so much. There’s nothing sweeter than a family like this one! The Cox family has a special place in my heart, and I am looking forward to working with them again in the future!
Capturing this The Woodlands Natural Light Candid Family Photography for the Cox family was such an honor. Aren’t they adorable?!

Words cannot describe what this family means to me. They are long term friends of mine, and I am so unbelievably blessed to have them in my life. John’s wife passed away in June 2015, and she was a very well-known and very talented newborn photographer. Jamie was such a close friend to me, and such an inspiration. Being a Houston indoor lifestyle family photography artist has been heavily influenced by sweet Jamie. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her influence and guidance.

Welcoming Natalie into the Fold

John has recently found the next love of his life and I could not be any happier for this wonderful man. This session was his new and amazing wife’s bridal shoot, along with their “engagement” pictures. I couldn’t help but to be in awe of this gorgeous and talented woman, Natalie. Not just because she is breath-takingly beautiful, but because the aura she gives off is so sweet and kind natured. I’m seriously ecstatic for John and this new chapter in his life.

A Stunning Family

John and Natalie’s session was joined by their precious children. Aubree, the youngest, was full of energy and such a personality! This little one was so silly and had a lot of fun throughout the session. One thing that I loved about this session was the amazing decorations throughout the home. Natalie has the BEST taste in home décor and works at Ethan Allen in The Woodlands (18390 Interstate 45S, The Woodlands, Tx).
Their home was a dream come true, and made it such a beautiful place to have a session! Natalie and John have such a great connection, and you can see their loving chemistry in nearly every photo. I adored the images we captured of them sitting in side-by-side smiling and laughing at one another. It was also so fun to see the kids playing and giggling with each other!
This sweet family has been through some tough times, but I am so thrilled to see that they have found their happiness. I know Jamie is so happy to see that such a wonderful woman, such as Natalie, has entered their lives. Congratulations to John and Natalie! If you are interested in booking a session with a Houston Indoor Lifestyle Family Photographer, please email me, or simply click here!
This family is so incredibly near and dear to my heart. Capturing their Houston Indoor Lifestyle Family Photography was such an honor!

Clothing Store Recommendations for The Woodlands Family and Newborn Photography

Clothing Store Recommendations for The Woodlands Family and Newborn Photography

When it comes to preparing for a session with your photographer, wardrobe is such a huge component, as it can totally affect the outcome of your photos. Are you stuck on what you and your family should wear for your newborn or family session?

Here are 4 ideas on great places that will provide the perfect wardrobe you are looking for!

1. My client wardrobe – I have invested in a wardrobe for my clients to use, if needed or wanted! This wardrobe is free for all clients to use. It includes tops, bottoms, and mostly maxi dresses that compliment any body type.  I have sizes for women that range from 2-12 and if you are interested in wearing pieces from my wardrobe, be sure to contact me if you want to schedule a wardrobe consult.
2. Free People – Free People has a vintage, classic look that tends to flatter nearly all body types. They can be a bit on the pricy side, but sometimes have great sales online and in stores. If you like floral, lace, and flowy clothing, this is the store for you.  You can visit this store locally, in The Woodlands Mall (located at 1201 Lake Woodlands Dr, The Woodlands, Tx 77380) right off the freeway, or visit their website to view their beautiful, high end pieces! <3
3. ASOS – This clothing brand was originally meant to portray clothing that was “as seen on screen,” or styles that were worn for celebrities. ASOS offers the most recent styles, geared for adults in their 20’s. Shop here if you want the current trends to be portrayed in your sessions.  This website is online and I believe based out of the UK.  You can visit their website here.  And be sure to always check their sale items.  Beautiful pieces for affordable prices!!
4. Old Navy (for kids) – Old Navy is a well known store that offers affordable clothing that is not only adorable, but comfortable for your kiddos. Their goal is to appeal to it’s customers with fun, fashion, and value.  They have a store located in The Woodlands in the Portofino Center (19075 Interstate 45 S, Shenandoah, Tx 77385) and one in Conroe at the Conroe Marketplace (2908 I45 N, Conroe, Tx 77303).  You can also shop styles conveniently online!
5. Gap (for kids) – Gap is similar to Old Navy, but slightly more pricey. There’s more bang for your buck, though, because the clothes will last longer than most. They are known to have classic styles that tend to stick around for several generations, as well as trendy options that go with the current times.  Gap Kids is located at the Premium Outlets in Cypress (29300 Hempstead Rd, Cypress, Tx 77433) if you need to get something quick, but their online selection is so convenient and a wealth of really amazing styles.

Ah, this amazing mama is so dear to me! Alyx is one of my good friends, and I had the sweet sweet pleasure of having her new little one in my studio! This precious baby was so stinkin’ cute, and I am so glad I was able to spend some quality time her.

Her Snuggly Studio Session

My studio is conveniently located right off I-45 N and FM 830, just a short 15 minute drive from The Woodlands. I love having a studio, especially for newborn sessions. It really makes for a stress-free environment for the little ones. There is nothing better than having a cozy little newborn sleeping soundly in the studio. A photographer’s dream!  This baby girl, Stevie, was so cuddly and calm, and slumbered away on the comfy blankets and pillows we surrounded her with.
Alyx and I decided on a simple session that showed off  Stevie’s beautiful features. We mostly did simple, natural poses that allowed for Stevie to stay comfortable the whole time. I just loved how she stretched her little arms half-way up. It’s safe to say that she is one of the cutest little sleepers, ever!

A Natural Beauty

We used flowers and other florals by Tamara Wylie Designs, and wow, does she do an amazing job! I am always impressed by her simple, yet elegant designs. Big sister and momma also joined in on Stevie’s session, and it was so sweet to see the three of them altogether. What a precious family!
One of the many blessings of being a photographer is working with beautiful families like this one. I am forever thankful for all of my amazing clients for putting their trust in me time and time again. I hope 2018 brings all of you many blessings! If you are looking for a stress-free convenient photographer, please feel free to email me, or simply click here!
Capturing The Woodlands Stress Free Newborn Photography allows, not only, for a wonderful experience for mama, but for a gorgeous and natural collection!

Weddings are so much fun. A lot of hard work and planning goes into the perfect wedding celebration, so as a The Woodlands Wedding Photographer, I’m always in awe of the brides who spend hours on Pinterest and whip up everything themselves resulting in the prettiest decor. I remember my own wedding. The overwhelming stress of getting everything ordered, booked, and delivered in time. I can only imagine adding DIY projects. And being knee deep in ribbon, nails, and paint on top of it all!

Congrats to the Happy Couple

Becca and Justin had a beautiful wedding recently where Becca pulled off one of those perfect DIY celebrations. From globe lights strung everywhere, to the tree bark cake stand, to the rustic photo wall complete with fun props. There wasn’t a detail left out. Every sweet sign, chandelier, and flower arrangement complemented their big day. And I think the hard work that went into it made it that much more special! Becca and Justin own a Crossfit gym, so most of their guests were clients and friends from the gym.

Their ceremony was held on some land owned by Becca’s parents, and even their dog Zoe got to witness their vows and join in for some family photos! Becca was a stunning bride, and would’ve fit in at any glamorous five star hotel venue, but I think she shined most right in her own backyard amongst her friends and family in the intimate DIY wedding she worked so hard on herself. I loved capturing Becca and Justin’s beautiful wedding, and I am so blessed to call this sweet couple my friends!

So many laughs, smiles, and memories made during this family session! It was so much fun to capture this amazing family because I go to the gym with Rachel and Hali! I think that made them super comfortable in front of the camera. It gave me the opportunity to capture their true personalities! This was the perfect time for them to update their family portraits since the kids are growing up so quickly. They are some of the sweetest and most beautiful people I have ever met as a The Woodlands Family Natural Light Photographer – inside and out!

About the Wood Family

It was very important to showcase the bond that they have with one another. So I let them be silly and just interact with one another while I took tons of pictures! You can really tell how much they all mean to one another! The best part of it all was that they had every single-family member participate – including their little dog! Their little fury friend is a big part of their life, so we couldn’t dare leave him out! It was so sweet to watch them play together, and I know it will mean a lot to them for many years to come. I can already see these being framed all around their house and bringing them many smiles!

This shoot was for DoTERRA’s (essential oils) member magazine, DoTERRA Living, that goes out to all their members. The Millers were actually selected to be featured in the magazine, and they asked me to be their photographer! What an incredible compliment and honor.
DoTERRA’s essential oils are volatile, aromatic compounds that occur naturally in seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other plant parts. They have been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices for many many years. While there are over 3,0000 varieties of essential oils, each contains its own unique and specific benefits. Each pertain to a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. Such as soothing sore muscles, helping with digestion, improving sleep, and reducing nervousness and anxiety. In fact, my aunt had introduced me to essential oils several years back, and I absolutely love them. There are so many great benefits that they can offer its unbelievable.

About this Session

The Millers were an absolute pleasure to work with. Amy and Jim are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and their three boys were so fun and delightful. The twin boys were just too cute and so full of energy and personality, and their big brother, Noah, was so handsome, mature, and caring for his two little brothers. They were so sweet to their mama, bringing her flowers and giving her kisses, and they loved wrestling with Dad! How fun?!!! I can definitely see why the Millers were chosen to be featured in DoTERRA’s member magazine; this family’s love for each other is so unbelievable, and as the pictures show, they are so full of life and make one great team as a family.
I am so blessed and fortunate that my passion for photography brings me to meeting and working with such wonderful and amazing families like the Millers and allows for amazing opportunities like this one. I can’t even express how blessed I am to have my work featured in magazines, such as DoTERRA’s Living Magazine, for causes and products I believe in and love myself through photos of a such a beautiful and lovely family.
What a fun family! Being the Miller family’s The Woodlands Family Photography artist was such a treat! Love those smiles!!
